An Information Hub For Residents
Please browse the drop down tabs above to find Ashton related information, advice, news and nostalgia.
At a residents meeting on 25th February 2020, the police advised all residents kept awake by speeding cars to report the problem to enable problem areas and times to be identified and to provide EVIDENCE of an issue that needs addressing. Here is the link to report the matter online.
All residents affected by instances of anti social noise from PARKED vehicles were encouraged to report each instance to Preston City Council to ensure they have EVIDENCE to trigger an investigation. You can report the problem online, here, or email email@example.com
A resident recently asked a rather good question on social media:
Where can you find a defibrillator in Ashton?
Residents provided the following information:
- Ashton Health Centre (inside)
- Briarwood Medical Centre
- Cottam Lane Surgery
- Lane Ends Surgery
- Morrisons Security Desk
- Preston Marina
- Preston Sea Cadets on Strand Road (on Outside wall)

LOOKING FOR FRIENDSHIP?
In July 2019 the "#Hello Neighbour Challenge" inspired a group of Ashtonians to encourage residents to get to know others in the local community and to share news about community and social events.
Members of the HELLO NEIGHBOUR group communicate with each other online using a Facebook Group and the website "Nextdoor" and meet at the Beach Hut Cafe on Preston Docks, 10:30 - 12 noon on the first Saturday and third Wednesday of each month. If you would like to join the group for a coffee and a chat, please respond to their event posts on their Hello Neighbour Facebook Group or on the event listing on Nextdoor.
Members of the group organise social events based upon members' interests and support a variety of community events.
Don't be shy - join up, join in and make new friends.
Via What's App
Following a suggestion from the police, residents of a number of streets in old Ashton created What's App WATCH groups (coloured green)
They now share information about anti-social behaviour and crime in their area.
If you would like to start a group for your street check out this guide based on the experiences of the Ashton admins.
If you would like to link your group to the current network, please e-mail details to firstname.lastname@example.org
