At a residents meeting on 25th February 2020, the police advised all residents kept awake by speeding cars to report the problem to enable problem areas and times to be identified and to provide EVIDENCE of an issue that needs addressing.

All residents affected by instances of anti social noise from PARKED vehicles were encouraged to report each instance to Preston City Council to ensure they have EVIDENCE to trigger an investigation. You can report the problem online, here, or email

Love Ashton

Welcome to this Facebook group for Ashton. It's a group for those with a love of Ashton who are interested in the latest community news & events, local groups, clubs and businesses, and chatting about all things Ashton - on - Ribble.


In July 2019 the "#Hello Neighbour Challenge" inspired a group of Ashtonians to encourage residents to get to know others in the local community and to share news about community and social events.

Members of the HELLO NEIGHBOUR group communicate with each other online using a Facebook Group and the website "Nextdoor" and meet at the Beach Hut Cafe on Preston Docks, 10:30 - 12 noon on the first Saturday and third Wednesday of each month. If you would like to join the group for a coffee and a chat, please respond to their event posts on their Hello Neighbour Facebook Group or on the event listing on Nextdoor.

Members of the group organise social events based upon members' interests and support a variety of community events.

Don't be shy - join up, join in and make new friends.

Following a suggestion from the police, residents of a number of streets in old Ashton created What's App WATCH groups (coloured green)

They now share information about anti-social behaviour and crime in their area.
